- Say hello to the class and have them reply. Walk around the class to greet some pupils, slapping on the hand of the greeted pupils.
Task 1: Look, listen and repeat.
- Have pupils look at the pictures on page 18.
- Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures.
- Present the situation.
- Read the dialogue.
- Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class.
Task 2: Point and say.
- Recall the introducing phrases.
- Point to Peter. Ask pp to guess what each character should say.
- Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles.

- Ss love English, friends and teacher.

Task 1: Talk
- Have Ss look at the pictures on page 18.
- Ask Ss to identify the characters.
- Point to Nam and Linda, ask what each character should say.
- Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles.
- Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles.
Task 2: Listen and tick
- Have pupils look at the pictures on page 19.
- Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures.
- Guide Ss to do the task.
- Play the tape. 
- Play the tape again.
- Choose one or two Ss to share their answers with their classmates.
- Replay the tape.
- Have Ss to trade their answer in pairs for correction.
Task 3: Look and write
- Have Ss open their books to page 19.
- Get Ss to identify the character in the pictures.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read and get information to write the missing words in the dialogue, using those from the frame on the top of the page.
- Ask Ss read individually and complete the dialogue.
- Ask Ss trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction.
- Ask 2-3 Ss to read their answers aloud to the class
- Listen and give comments.
- Have the whole class repeat each line of the dialogue.

- Have Ss look at the song on page 19.

- Ask Ss sing the song on page 20.
Task 1: Listen and repeat.(Review)
- Have Ss open their books page 20.
- Produce the sound of the letter l in the word hello and that of the letter a in the word thanks.
- Place the large piece of paper with the chant written on it on the board.
- Play the tape, and clap the syllables.
- Call a group (6 Ss) to the front of the class, ask three them to repeat each line of the chant, and the other three clap the syllables.
Task 2: Read and match.
- Have Ss open their book page 21.
- Ask Ss identify the characters in the pictures.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read the sentences to get the information in order to match the pictures to the text.
