Sentence Patterns:

Warm-up and review
Say Hello and smile at children. 
Sing the song from page 126 (CD1 – Track 7) of the Student Book to energize the class and remind children of the way how to ask and answer about phone numbers.
Play the game “Number Codes”
Cut out some squares and write numbers from 0-9 on them. 
Put the numbers in a box and then instruct the students to place the numbers in a line as you call them out. 
Play the game “ Interview”
Give each child a worksheet
Have the children go around the classroom and ask their friends “ What’s your phone number?”, then write down the answers.

Sing the “Numbers Song Let's Count to 20” (Source: 
A. Listen, point and say.(CD1 – track 8)
Use flashcards to introduce the new words.
Have students listen to each new word.
Have students listen to each new word and repeat all together and individually. Correct student’s pronunciation if it’s necessary.
Arrange the flashcards on the board, play audio, and have students listen and repeat. Point to the flashcards along with the audio. Repeat several times. 
Play audio again and have students listen, repeat, and point to the pictures in their books. 
Change the order of the flashcards, point to them individually and have students say the words, correct pronunciation when needed.
Option 1:
Play the "Guess" game. 
Arrange the flashcards on the board and write a number under each card.
Have students look at the flashcards for the count of ten. Turn the flashcards over to face the board when the students are not looking. 
Call out a number and have students take turns to guess the face-down card. Turn the card over after each guess.
Option 2:
Play the “Board Race” Game
Divide the class into four groups and have students make four lines.
Give each group some chalk.
Teacher says a word and student in each group run to the board write the word they heard.

Review the story from the previous lesson: "The teacher asked for the children's home phone numbers."

Introduce the situation: "Tom is asking how old people are..."
Have students call out the people they can see. 
Play audio. Have students listen and read.

Play audio and demonstrate the activity using the example. 
Play audio and have students listen and write the numbers. 
Play audio again and check answers as a whole class.

Play “Fly an airplane” game

Give students some pieces of paper. Have them make their own airplanes.
Divide the board into two parts, one sticks word cards (or write the words) like he/she/they, one sticks number cards (or write the numbers) from 10 to 20.
Have students work in pairs. Student A flies the airplane to a number and student B flies the airplane to a word on the board, then make questions and answers about age. 
E.g. 
Student A: How old is she?
Student B: She’s 19 years old.
Swap roles and continue.
D. Word Stress

Have students listen and notice the pronunciation feature. 
Play audio and draw attention to the pronunciation feature.

Divide the class into pairs. 
Have Student A point and ask; have Student B answer.

Afterwards, have some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of the class.
G. Play the “Tic, tac, toe” game.

Divide the class into groups of four with two pairs in each group. 
Say the rules to the students.
Have pairs play rock, paper, scissors to see which pair goes first. 
Have the winning pair choose a space, then ask and answer using the picture. 
Have the pair mark that space as theirs if they use the useful language correctly.
Have pairs take turns. The pair that gets three spaces in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line wins the game.

Wrap-up
Option 1:
Play the “Ball Circle”
Divide the class into groups of 5–10. Each group sits in a circle. Give each group a ball.
One child asks, “How old are you?” and throws the ball to another child, who answers. 
This child then asks, “How old are you?” and throws the ball to another child. 
Continue until every child has had a turn. 
Option 2:
Workbook – Page 4,5
Have students do the exercise B of page 4 .
Have students work in pairs and compare the answers.
Give the correct answers to the students and guide them how to do the remains at home.
